How to be a Good Student of Astrology - Part 1 of 2
At this point in your life when you're undertaking the real opportunity to study authentic astrology, it is incumbent upon you as a dedicated student to pass on the opportunity of learning to others. Help clarify matters. The following is a brief on the main differences between palmistry, astrology, and numerology. There are many ways of being true to yourself. One of the most important ways is not to deny yourself the right to explore the goodness that can be produced with a passion for knowledge.
You have a strong urge to explore astrology. More particularly, metaphysics in general, but probably with a personal focus for astrology. That focus doesn't have to be narrowed down to a single subject, either. It can be spread across a few subjects that you may have strong interest in, even though you might find a specific subject the easiest line to follow. This article sets out to justify not so much the validity of the subjects or sciences you want to know more about, but especially the sense of justice you must uphold within yourself as a learning individual.
Everyone has an intrinsic urge for revelation, but not everyone has the yearnings to learn to make revelations. The subject is sensitive, but your position in society is even more sensitive. Man's obsession for revelation is not so much his intrinsic urge to acquaint with the mysteries of divination, but more his spiritual need to know whether he would eventually obtain a point of security after all his hard living. Being responsible with a knowledge that may help to that end, is a noble practice for any student of life. No less noble the constructive counseling of astrology for a psychologically and spiritually needy, than the deft scalpel of a surgeon for a diseased patient. Astrology is even cheaper, and in many instances, an even better option in life.
For an eastern culture seeped in metaphysical beliefs and practices, many astrology students are still thwarted from voicing their personal involvements with astrology and its sister subjects openly. While some may do so due to a more objective conclusive study and consider themselves unqualified in revealing their advocacy, many do so for fear of being scorned or laughed at. Thus, it becomes a daunting task to reach a level of proficiency in astrology use because it is a bitter challenge to undergo its study when support is not forthcoming. The following reveals solutions that can help alleviate this problem among astrology students:
1. If you feel strongly about it, then dare to make a statement about it.
2. Qualify your statement with personal study rather than hearsay. Let your experience be the authority over what you represent.
3. Study in a manner that will fortify your own thoughts by deploying that must be objective. Objectivity enhances your confidence deeper enquiry. You can be as spiritual as you want with your study of astrology, but let that not deter you from the need to appeal to reason.
4. Network with other teachers and students of similar persuasion for better and representation.
5. Always take every opportunity to listen in to discussions relating to any aspect of astrology even if you're not participating. You will still learn. Just be there.
6. Participate well if you can. You will learn even more. Get into it.
7. Build a personal collection of everything astrology you can lay your hands on.
